Lush

The other day I finally became a Lushie... I was expecting more items in the store. I had heard, somewhere, that it stinks. It's not horrible but you can smell it as you approach. I bought three (really four) items. All of which I'd seen online.

1. Dark angels scrub:
So far I like it. At first I thought I was reacting to it and I was sad, because that little pot is $15.00. I've had acne since I was in 4th grade. I've gone to dermatologist. I even took acutane when I was in middle school. I've come to terms with the fact that I will always have acne. I also think this is part of the reason why people always think I'm a lot younger than I am. I tell people that because of the price I hope it works, but I also hope it doesn't because it's expensive.

2. Shimmy Shimmy
This was an impulse purchase. It was one of the cheaper items at 7.95. My friend and her daughter and I all rubbed it on and decided I needed to buy it. I had originally told her about the nude one that is suppose to give the illusion of pantyhose, but upon seeing it she explained that she'd use the whole bar in one application. I think it would last awhile after smearing this bar on. It did melt in my purse a little yesterday ( damn you 100 degree weather!) so It is now in the fridge.

3. Karma shampoo bar

I've only used this twice and I already sorta think the nearly $4.00 tin that I bought in additon to the $11.95 bar is bent. I have long thick wavy hair that is almost to my bum. I use Suave Sleek almost exclusively. It's 2.50 for a big bottle and doesn't dry my hair out. I used to be a solid Dove girl. I've tried salon shampoo, and I just don't think it's worth it. This shampoo has a good lather, I actually wish the scent was stronger. I had my friend smell it and she said, "Yeah that smells like you." And I asked her if that was because I smell like incense? ( I burn a lot of dragons blood and Nag Champa, but the time I was told that at the bar I was wearing Aura Cacia's Peaceful Patchouli and Sweet Orange spray.)  My hair is shiny and soft, but I'm also still using my suave conditioner on the length of my hair.

I want to at least go smell the Jasmine one (Godiva).

I also want this items:

Okay, I want pretty much all the massage bars...

and after watching this video:

I want the Full of Grace Serum bar too...

Actually, I want a good Vitamin C serum. I'm looking at The Body Shop right now, but that's another post.

Bpal order 3

I'm addicted... lalalala

Luna Sanguinem

A scent of dreams and portents, strange omens, and palpable mystery. The blood moon passing through the earth’s shadow: mugwort, moonwort, and black lotus reddened by pimento, smoked carnation, red musk, and red rose petals, all shadowed by tobacco absolute, bourbon vanilla, Peru balsam, leather accord, and myrrh.

I keep smelling my hand where I placed this. I can't figure out how to explain this scent or why I spent 23 dollars on something I was unsure of. I think I keep smelling it though because it smells like tobacco. But to me this smells like fall. Like earth and tobacco and leather and a cold snap. It smells like an older man. It's not something I would wear. but it's pleasing.

tobacco absolute, bourbon vanilla and leather... A true addict has to have the limited editions. I paid 23 dollars for this on the blood moon.

Big one because I put it on my pillow at night. - It smells like sea air. I don't know how they do it. When I received my  bottle I opened it up and said yup, the ocean.
And for the first time I got an Imp pack, not 6 that I picked out myself: The most beloved pack includes:

—Miskatonic University (substituted March 18th, 2014)- The scent of Irish coffee, dusty tomes and polished oakwood halls.

Oh god this is lovely. But it mostly smells like Irish Cream.  I have yet to smell the dusty tomes and oakwood. I have held off finishing this for so long because I never put this one on. Its nice to smell, but I guess i don't even want to try smelling like Irish coffee and dusty tomes.

—Dorian a sweet gilded blossom lying over a twisted and corrupted core. A Victorian fougere with three pale musks and dark, sugared vanilla tea.

I don't really like Dorian, even though its the name of my 13 year old cat. I think it smells like old people. Disappointed to say the least, I've heard so much about how unisex and nice this scent is.

It did wear well, when I sniffed my wrist I could still smell it well into the afternoon. It dried down to a sweet vanilla smell.

—Embalming Fluid A light, pure scent: white musk, green tea, aloe and lemon.
I really smell the lemon in this. I'm not big on lemon. I'm more of an orange oil type of girl. I once read a review that said this oil smelt like dirt on them. To me it's more lemon pledge. And now I can honestly say: "No sir, I do not like lemon."

—Morocco The intoxicating perfume of exotic incenses wafting on warm desert breezes. Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia.
At first I thought this was nice. Warm and spicy. But I didn't think it lasted as long as it should of, within five hours it was gone. And the dry done was very faint and odd.

—Sin - amber, sandalwood, black patchouli and cinnamon.
I smell the pachouli in this. It smells like a head shop. I think I sorta like it. when I put it on my wrist it dripped down like blood. For some reason I like the thicker oils. But I don't really smell this on me. and what I do smell is just patchouli

—Snake Oil-
By far, our most popular scent! Magnetic, mysterious, and exceedingly sexual in nature. A blend of exotic Indonesian oils sugared with vanilla.

I read somewhere that there is a difference between new and aged snake oil. I'm not enamored with this. I don't get it. It smells like something else.. a familiar smell. But it isn't intoxicating. Where I put it on the back of my hand is shiney.

It did last a long time. I smelt it all though the night. This one might grow on me.

And my SIX free imps. Oh god. They know how to turn people into addicts. ( So let me get this right, my experience has been: six imps = two free. One full size and six imps= 4 free and two full size and six imps= six free!?!

Inconsolable: lily of the valley, hyacinth, calamus, muguet, hydrangea, and elemi.
On first whif before I had even looked it up, I said out loud, "Oh grief smells good!" A very light femine scent. Very spring. I'm usually not one for florals, but this one is nice. It sorta reminds me of an Avon perfume of my youth. That might not be very big selling point... But this is the one I reach for most often. i have even toyed with buying a Imp pack of soft florals.

.  A decadent, deep perfume, lusty and luxuriant. The scent evokes images of velvet-lined Old West cathouses, tightly laced corsets, rustling petticoats and coquettish snarls of pleasure. Bawdy plum with amaretto, burgundy wine and black currant.

Upon first sniff: It smells very sweet. I think I like this game of smell then look up what they're suppose to bed. I would expect more fruit less booze. It smells like fruit candy, like lifesavers or gummy bears.

The Bpal forum sings this scents praises, but I think it smells cheap. Like those fruity sprays you buy at Walmart or Target. I put it on and ran some errands, came home took a shower and put it in the nope box. Then after reading the reviews gave it another go. Still a nope.

The devil’s herb, which he cultivates with skill and pleasure. According to lore, the spirit of this plant may take the form of a breathtaking, achingly beautiful woman, deadly to behold. This scent is a tribute to such a dark and magnificent plant: a rich green and floral blend, earthy and haunting.
This scent is Absinthe green. I know I remember looking at this scent. It initially smells earthy, but after a few seconds I smelt pine. Like Pine cleaner pine. This will probably go in the probably not box.

In Hermetic alchemy, brimstone is one of the Three Heavenly Substances, one of the primary alchemical Principles  It represents the strength of will and the vigor of passion, and it is a symbol of the process of fermentation. A smoky, gritty blend, husky and gray.

When I opened it I was expecting something akin to Cathedral. Its not as smoky! I feel like cleaning product smell here too. Not horrible.

I already own this one, and I do no like it. thanks, but no thanks. Next time can I please have an Imp of one I own and like? Well now there's two of them in the nope box.

This is the captured scent of a cold, moonless night, lost deep within the darkest wood. Haunting and desolate, this scent evokes images of fairy tale tragedy and half-remembered nightmares. Thick, viscous pine with ambergris, black musk, juniper and cypress.

Strangely the one with pine in it doesn't smell as piney as the others. It smells like plants. A little more pine comes out on the skin. It smells pleasant, but I wouldn't wear it.
